Board Members

To develop our programs, we identified the key areas where there’s the most need. Our programs rely on active participation from our partners supporters.

Deborah Reichling

Deborah Reichling

Deborah, a former foster parent, is a retired public administrator who worked for several cities, including San Jose, Campbell, West Sacramento, Sacramento, and Vacaville, in a managerial capacity. She received her undergraduate degree from San Jose State University and her Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California. She is also a licensed California real estate broker. Deborah believes that education is the best way for a foster child to build a successful and financially independent future.

Lupe Aguinaga

Lupe Aguinaga is a finance professional who has worked in local government her entire career. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from San Jose State University. She was born, raised, and continues to reside in San Jose, California. Lupe has served on various boards that are part of her personal and professional communities.

Lupe strongly believes in the power of young people who strive to make the world a better place. This path begins with completing higher education to begin the formation of a base for lifelong involvement in improving our community and contributing to the achievement of individual goals for the betterment of each succeeding generation.

Candace Capogrossi

Candace Capogrossi

Candy Capogrossi has worked in the field of housing for more than 35 years. She has a BA from Ithaca College, majoring in theater and English. Her career included teaching in an elementary school, working as a case manager at a group home for teenage young women, and working as a house parent at a residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed children. She served as deputy executive director of the Santa Clara Housing Authority, retiring in 2010 after 32 years. She has served as an executive officer of several boards of directors, including the Emergency Housing Consortium, Catholic Charities, and the Pacific Regional National Association. She is a mother and a grandmother and has a bonus daughter and granddaughter from a previous foster relationship. Believing that education is still the path to self-actualization and independence, she is pleased to serve on the board of FEOF.

Trudy Johnson

Trudy Johnson is a nursing executive with forty years of healthcare leadership experience in hospitals and networks in the public and private non-profit sectors. As a board member of the San Jose/Evergreen College Foundation, she observed the well-deserved sense of pride that many foster youth feel when they are able to overcome some obstacles to college graduation. Trudy has a Master of Arts degree in Nursing Administration from New York University and is a distinguished fellow of the National Academies of Practice. She knows that a healthy next generation needs a foundation of solid education and nurturing mentorship.
